About Me

Welcome!  My name is Emmeline and I love football, food, and really really love running.  Oh, and puppies.  LOVE puppies.  This is me:

Sorry I have no running related pictures right now, or really any photos after my computer died last year.  I’ll fix that, I promise.

These are my babies:

And I have a super awesome husband who is nice enough to pretend to be super interested in me telling him about every detail of my runs.

My running story in blurb-ish form:

I played soccer my whole life until an injury ruined my career.  I proceeded to do nothing at all and drink and eat pizza for the remainder of college.  At almost 23, I decided I was sick of doing nothing and went for a 5 mile run.  I did it again the next day, and 5-6 days a week after that.  I loved it, which was weird because I HATED running during soccer training.  I got pretty fast, and placed in some local races, but I totally trained without any direction and just went out and did what I felt like doing that day.  Running became this thing that I loved and that kept me sane and I started fantasizing about getting REALLY good.  Then I got injured.  I was one day out from competing in a National Championship race when I tore my plantar fasciia (0/10 don’t recommend) and was out for months.  I came back, re-trained, and did a marathon.  And then tore two ligaments in my knee.  I never really came back.  I would get motivated to run again, and get discouraged at how slow I was compared to how I used to be.  Well, this time it’s different.  I miss running and I love it, and I’m going to do everything I can to stay healthy so I never have to stop doing it again.  I’m going to get fast again, you just wait and see 🙂  I want to set PRs, I want to win races, and I want championships, no matter how long or how much hard work it takes to get there.  I’m not as fast as I used to be yet, but I will be 🙂

  1. Hi there,
I first want to say thank you for such wonderful work in creating your blog!

I was wondering if you have tried these little known gluten free and paleo products: Miss Paleo Mixes. They have some more information on the website: http://www.misspaleomixes.com

If you’d like to try a sample to review on your blog, we’d be happy to send it! Feel free to email or contact me through my blog (www.relizabethpaleorunner.blogspot.com) if you decide this is something that interests you.

    Thank you!

  2. Emmeline,

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog because I was able to see yours! you are absolutely gorgeous, and your hubby, and your PUPPIES!!! Ah, I wish Bella could play with them, they’d be best buds for sure haha!

Your story is indeed incerdible. It’s mind-boggling how you don’t give up despite all setbacks that you’ve had. But try to be careful, don’t push your body too much to avoid injuries. Preparation, patience and and small steps at the time are critical in preventing injuries.

I wish you all the best! I’m hoping to hear about you placing very high in all races that you atempt! All the best, darling!

    xoxo

  3. I’ve never heard of anyone tearing a plantar fasciia. That sound just horrible. I mean, the worst. Glad you’re healthy and getting back at it. I’m not nearly as fast as I was in high school track, but I’m working on that just like you!

    • I could not explain the pain if I tried. I couldn’t walk and putting any weight on it at all broke me into tears. Weirdly, no problems with it since and now that I’m healthy, I’m going to do my best to keep it that way! We can beat our younger selves 😉

  4. I just found your blog…and your running story is similar to mine…except that my injuries weren’t as serious…until I made them more serious because I kept running on them (why do I always think that’s a good idea?!). I’m looking forward to reading your posts!
